Day 2 Washington DC

Friday night Derek fell asleep at 9PM? No energy.
Our big plan for the day was the Segway tour and City Segway Tours did not disappoint.

Derek gets Segway training

I had prior Segway experience so it was a snap for me, Derek and I in front of the Whitehouse
We took the Segways to the WWII Memorial, around the reflecting pool and to the Smithsonian which is where Derek and I went to before the Segway tour.
We took a break and got off at the Lincoln Memorial, I had never gone in before.
After the tour we got some free snacks and beer at the hotel.

The our friend Andrea came by to meet us for dinner.
We went to the HardRock DC for dinner, bad food, bad service and high prices meant we were there.
But it was fun!

Apparently in DC there is no law about minors sitting at the bar, the super cranky bartender never said anything to Derek - however Andrea's Mojito sucked so she switched to beer.

I learned a new term at dinner from our over burdened waitress NOVA = Northern Virgina which is wear Andrea lives.
Back to the Hotel!

We had a good conversation about choosing colleges, a hot topic for Derek
The hotel had lions in front
The next day Derek and I caught an earlier flight home, vacation over!

Friday June 18 2010 First Day in DC

Today Derek and took the 8:55 flight to Washington DC on American Airlines.
It was an easy flight on tine.

We are staying at the Embassy Suites near the Washington Convention Center.

Our major visit of the day was the International Spy Museum which was very intriguing and informative,
we had a lot of fun.

On the way to the White House you can see the capital behind me.
This picture was taken at Freedom Park, no one was there.

Tomorrow we are walking the National Mall and then have a Segway Tour at 3PM.
